Club Championship News (Updated 28/9/07)

As you are aware the Club Championships have been under way, and it's fair to say we have had some astonishing results, there have been stacks of PB's and special congratulations should go to the younger swimmers that experienced the Championships for the first time. The atmosphere on pool side on all nights has been fantastic and it was great to see the older swimmers cheering the younger ones along. Hopefully it was advantageous to the younger swimmers to see some of the older ones jump in first.

This year we changed the format of the Championships to bring it more into line with the County Championships, whilst this is not something that everyone agrees with, the format appears to have worked out OK. In the future we may look at having a "Fun Gala" specifically for the younger swimmers where there is a less competitive edge......(but they will be disqualified if the egg falls off the spoon )

Congratulations to everyone who took part, it was great to see the enthusiasm and support, keep it up.

We still have the distance events to do and it's looking as though these will be done over the next few Thursday nights, ENTRIES HERE as it isn't fair to ask the swimmers to swim an 800m and a 1500m race in one night (apparently they get tired....perhaps we should train them harder *joking*). We even took some pictures.
