| Bert's Special Award |
| The committee has been on a secret mission over the last few weeks on behalf of the Wellington Town Council, but we can now let you all know what has been happening. Our beloved Bert Wedge has been presented with a special award for services to the community. The mayor, Karen Tomlinson, presented Bert with his plaque on Tuesday, 10th March and poor Bert did not suspect a thing—it was a complete surprise. "It came as a complete shock", but this award is very well deserved after giving over 50 years of service to Wellington in respect of teaching hundreds of kids to swim, helping out at charity events and obviously still greeting all of you every Tuesday and Wednesday. If you ask him nicely, I am sure he will show you his award—he was very proud although he would not admit to it, after all, he is very modest and is loved and respected by us all. Well done Bert. |
